Open discussion of stuttering

Need to ask this questions myself to others to be more open about my stammer

1) Have you ever known any other stutterers personally? But no need to give their names.

2) How does my stuttering affect you?

3) What do you think causes stuttering?

4) What do you think people can do about their stuttering?

Please do comment.

1) Have you ever known any other stutterers personally? But no need to give their names. No, I don't think I have known anyone who stutters personally.

2) How does my stuttering affect you? Your stuttering doesn't affect me. I am still able to have a conversation with you.

3) What do you think causes stuttering? Sometimes it can be caused from a lack of confidence or maybe increased because of a lack of confidence??? :/

4) What do you think people can do about their stuttering? Be confident! Speak more slowly and with clarity, don't stop or get frightened because everyone has a right to speech =)

No. I don't really know anyone else.

2) How does my stuttering affect you?
No. Although it takes longer to get the message through, it doesn't bother me much.

3) What do you think causes stuttering?
I think its more congenital than behavioral. I hear there are programs and training to alleviate the problem.

4) What do you think people can do about their stuttering?
I don't think it should keep anyone from achieving their ambitions. Lewis Carol used to stammer. King George VI of England as well (Watch movie: The King's Speech(2010)). As I mentioned earlier, there might be ways to improve on it such as speech therapy etc.

1. Yeah many.
2. It doesn't affect me, and first of all it's not even about me. If it affects him/her that's what matters.
3. I don't really know. I don't know what is the reason for the accent I have. Everyone is unique.
4. If they take it as a problem, some speech therapy may be.

No.

2) How does my stuttering affect you?

To be very frank with you, it is sometimes difficult to understand when we have conversation over phone. Being a friend I can be patient enough to slow down the conversation but this may not happen in the case of a stranger which you would have already experienced.

3) What do you think causes stuttering?

No idea. May be related to sound muscles, which can be addressed by a voice therapy.

4) What do you think people can do about their stuttering?
1. Talk a lot ( call us at-least once in n year)
2. Get a gf
3. Sing in the bathroom/toilet
4. See a voice therapist ( I know a famous guy
in TVM)

I know you would have already tried or still trying all of these things, but I have a lot of hope that u will come out of this situation.

1.Stuttering happens when searches for the correct word.
2.Neurogenic disorders arise from signal problems between the brain and nerves or muscles (i read this from website)

4) What do you think people can do about their stuttering?
get a friend who stutter more than u....(then only you don't get that feel & u can communicate with him/her without hesitation)
