I had my ielts speaking test today. I was wondering whether to write a post on this today itself or after my results are out. I wrote this today, as i want to feel that i dont care about my results and it is the process of speaking that is more important. I was fluent half way through and stuttered along the second half. After the session was over, it was very heavy on my mind. They say IELTS effectively marks ones english language abilities. I dont know how far these is correct for stuterrers like me.
To finish, i am just hoping they give me enough band score that suits the purpose for which i wrote it,and atleast the score doesn't make me look like a person with poor english skills
Edit : My ielts band scored are out. Speaking score is 6.5 (somewhere between competent to good speaker). I am happy because this is enough for my purpose. Among the four modules, i got the least for speaking. Overall my band score 7.5.
So, i just cruised over one of the crucial tasks of speaking. For all PWS out there wanting to undergo IELTS and feel little nervous about it, i say - 'just do it' and afterwards you will feel that the fear was unnecessary, as with me. I had submitted a medical certificate which said that i had moderate stuttering. I had also planned to disclose to the examiner personally before the session that i was a PWS, but it turned out that i didn't do it.
Do practice hard, but don't worry about the result
